Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre, Hala

Mother and Childcare Centre constructed and furnished by PPL at Matiari Sindh

For provision of effective maternal and child healthcare services to local communities in Hala, District Matiari, a separate obstetrics and gynaecology centre was established by PPL at Taluqa Hospital, Matiari.

When PPL started its CSR initiatives for local communities near Hala Block, development of a well-equipped mother and child healthcare centre emerged as a major requirement. Responding to the need, the company worked with the Matiari district government to construct and furnish the requisite facility at Taluka Hospital, Matiari on land provided by the hospital.

The Department of Health, District Matiari is responsible for operations and management of the facility which comprises a 14-bed ward, clinic, operation room and store.

As a result of the services extended by mother and child healthcare centre, Hala, the rate of referrals and incidence of natal and post-natal complications, rubella and other related diseases have decreased among local women.
